SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and is the broad definition for the tactic of getting a website to rank naturally within the organic (e.g., unpaid) listings for various search engines. Being ranked naturally on these search engines results in a website receiving free traffic, rather than having to pay for each click as you would through PPC.
What is PPC?
PPC stands for Pay Per Click and is a paid link through a vendor like Google or Bing that will generate paid traffic to your website. PPC does not guarantee revenue and you will need to pay for each and every click that comes through those paid links. This being said, it can be a very effective method.
